Francesco Fraioli Riffle is a social software which allows on-line interaction between musicians when creating tunes. Users can get in contact with one another to exchange music insights. Musicians can store their samples in their own space. The uniqueness of this software is based on the fact that users cannot at first see each other’s profiles and spaces. Only after they have decided to start a collaboration will the system put in contact two or more users. My thesis focuses on realizing a software prototype. The prototype has been designed to show some of the project’s functions. The main aim of Riffle is to discover new on-line interaction possibilities for users on the basis of the existing applications and systems.
Riffle was incubated by H-Farm Ventures, as Thounds.com, and in three years reached over thirty thousand users. Its seed funding exhausted, in 2012 it started to look for alternative sources of funding.
